API keys are a tool that allows Dropil or any other service to manage your exchange accounts without requiring your username and password to the accounts in question. These keys are generated by an exchange and used to link your Dropil account to your exchange accounts and are a key component for using Jade.
Creating Binance API Keys
To create an API key for Jade, open your Binance account overview page here. Find the box that has information on API keys and click the orange Enable button.
After enabling API on your account it will ask you to name your new API key. While you can pick any name you want, we recommend choosing something that helps you identify your key such as “Dropil Jade”.
After entering your key name and clicking “Create new key” you will be prompted to confirm it. If you have 2FA enabled on Binance, it will ask for your 2FA code here and send a confirmation email. If you do not have 2FA enabled, you will only have to confirm it through email.
After receiving the email, you have exactly one hour to click the “Confirm Create” button before the email expires. Clicking this button will take you back to the Binance website and should show that your API key was created successfully.
Finding Your Keys
You’ll see your API Key and Secret Key after following the link in the confirmation email. You will need to save both keys for use in Jade. For Jade you only need “Read Info” and “Enable Trading” checked. Do not enable withdrawals or IP restrictions. You can only view your Secret Key one time, meaning if you navigate away from this page you will not be able to view it again and will need to create new keys.
Linking Binance API to Jade
Open the exchange and API manager within Jade located here. You will enter your newly created API Key and Secret Key.
After entering a nickname for your account and your two keys, click the connect button to the right. If everything was entered correctly, you will receive a notification at the top of your portal that shows the link was successful and you are ready to create your first bot.
