Linking Your API Keys
Now that you have your API Key and Secret (as pictured above) navigate to the Exchanges page in Jade located here. Select Bittrex from the menu and enter your newly created API key and Secret. Click “Connect” to the right of where you entered your keys and if the link was a success you will get a notification that your Bittrex account was connected successfully.
Two-factor authentication is required by Bittrex to create API keys and is done to ensure account security. Once you have enabled 2FA, you will have to enter a 6 digit code sent to your mobile device through either Google Authenticator or Authy.
As soon as you install the app, go to your Bittrex account settings and select “Two-Factor Authentication“:
Open Google Authenticator or Authy on your phone and scan the QR code presented to you from the Bittrex site. You will be asked to enter the 6 digit code presented in the app to confirm setting up your 2FA.
Important: Make sure you back up your Secret Key when enabling your 2FA.
Once you have linked your 2FA app, enter the 6 digit code and select “Enable 2FA”
Now open the email account you used to register on Bittrex, find an email with the subject line reading “Bittrex Two-Factor Authentication” and follow the link inside. If there is no email, wait 5-10 minutes and refresh the mailbox.
You will need to enter the new 6 digit code from your authenticator app.
Press the button “Enable Two-Factor Authentication” and your 2FA setup will be complete.
